Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Monday infielder Jose Pirela has been placed on the seven-day disabled list with a left hand injury. Right-handed reliever Ryan Flannery has been activated from the team's DL. The Thunder active roster currently stands at the maximum 25 players.
Pirela, who led the league in batting average earlier this month, has slumped recently going 5-for-50 in his last 12 games played. Flannery has pitched in only one game since the All-Star break after spending two stints on the DL with left knee bursitis.
