
Jonquel Jones Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

The WNBA announced today that Connecticut Sun forward, Jonquel Jones has been named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, May 31 to Sunday, June 6. This is the eighth time Jones has been named player of the week in her career.
The Sun went 2-0 for the week of May 31 to June 6, picking up wins over the Las Vegas Aces (6/1) and the New York Liberty (6/5). Jones averaged 27 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks.
Against the Aces Jones posted 23 points, seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and three blocks. Four days later against the Liberty, she scored a regular-season career-high 31 points and added 13 rebounds, three assists, and one block.
Connecticut is 8-2 overall and 5-0 at home and remains the only undefeated team at home. The team will have a week off of games to prepare for Seattle.
