DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers linebacker Javicz Jones was named the Indoor Football League's Vidswap.com Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 7, the League announced today.
Jones (6-0, 230, Mary-Hardin Baylor) assisted the Barnstormers to their first-ever IFL home victory. One of the team's cornerstones on both special teams and defense, Jones amped up the first quarter momentum with a 41-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Jones finished the game with two kick returns for 41 yards. Jones also contributed on defense, never allowing the Blizzard to lead. He finished the game with 10 total tackles. This weekend, the Barnstormers host the Nebraska Danger.
The Indoor Football League awarded wide receiver Kayne Farquharson of the Nebraska Danger Offensive Player of the Week while Tri-Cities defensive back Troy Sanders earned Defensive Player of the Week.
