Joliet Slammers Host Back to the Future Night

Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy are powering up to 1.21 gigawatts and celebrating "Back to the Future" night Friday, July 24. In conjunction with the night's activities, the Slammers are guaranteeing that the Chicago Cubs will win the 2015 World Series.

The Slammers first guaranteed the W for the Cubs back in February, BEFORE the Cubs became a major playoff contender. Now, following the All-Star break, the Chicago Cubs have a whopping 71.9% of reaching the postseason, according to Baseball Prospectus, putting them in a great spot to make a World Series push.

Slammers General Manager Chris Franklin said, "When Back to the Future II predicted the Cubs would win the World Series in 2015, people thought it was an amusing, but an unlikely prediction. Sports writers agree that the Cubs now have a legitimate chance at winning the World Series, and we want to be the first to guarantee it."

All fans in attendance on Friday will receive a voucher, only valid for any 2016 Slammers game if the Cubs DO NOT win the World Series.

Friday night's activities will also include a REAL DeLorean, displayed outside the main gates of Silver Cross Field for fans to travel back in time to 1985 and snap a picture next to the plutonium-powered nuclear reactor-driven vehicle. Fans who drive in a DeLorean of their own will receive a free ticket to the game that night. Fans who come dressed in a futuristic costume receive a free drink voucher.

During the game, fans can participate in movie trivia and anyone that arrives with a working hover board will receive Slammers season tickets for life. After the game, fans will be treated to a Back to the Future themed fireworks show.

Fun at Silver Cross Field continues throughout the weekend as the Slammers host Christmas in July on Saturday, July 25. Santa is on vacation from the North Pole and available for pictures. Fans should dress in their favorite ugly sweaters and bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Toy Box Connection! Sunday is Mascot Mania and fans can come out to visit their favorite Chicago Sports Teams and local mascots as they participate in fun pre-game activities!
