(Joliet, IL) - In these tough economic times, a lot of students don't have the back-to-school supplies they need.

Joliet Patch will be at Friday's Slammers game in an effort to collect school supplies to help kids in need. They will donate all school supplies to Joliet Public Schools District 86. The district will then distribute the school supplies to students who need them. Fans who attend the game can bring any school supplies they wish to donate to Joliet Patch's concourse table which is located on the third base side of the stadium. As a thank you, Joliet Patch will be giving out "Patch SWAG" to anyone who donates.

Even items as simple as Number 2 pencils are in high-demand. Backpacks, glue sticks, wide-ruled notebook paper and wide-ruled single-subject notebooks are other items many kids do not have for school.

For more information fans can contact Joliet Patch's Dawn Aulet at 815-531-7412 or by emailing Dawn.Aulet@patch.com .
