Everett Silvertips News Release
We hope you'll be able to join us on Tuesday, October 7th when the Silvertips Hockey Show returns with Taylor Ellington as our guest!
Ellington will join host Jon Rosen to talk about this year's club and prepare everyone for the Friday, October 10th game against the Seattle Thunderbirds. We look forward to taking your calls and questions, and hope everyone will be able to attend the show, where you'll be able to chat with Taylor and get some autographs!
We look forward to meeting Silvertips fans across Snohomish County and the greater Puget Sound region at the Silvertips Hockey Show, held at Sporty's Beef and Brew at 6503 Evergreen Way in Everett, from 6:00-7:00 on Tuesdays while the team is in town.
Fans who are unable to make it to Sporty's should set their radio dial to North Sound 1380 at 6 pm.
This Wednesday: Meet the 'Tips at Alligator Soul
Silvertips fans, want to get some hockey tips straight from the 'Tips themselves? Here's your chance to ask the players some questions directly. We're holding a question and answer dinner at Alligator Soul this Wednesday, October 8th, where you'll be able to sit down and eat some delicious grub with your favorite Silvertips stars!
Join Zack Dailey, Shane Harper, Mike Alexander and Kellan Tochkin at Alligator Soul from 6-8 pm this Wednesday. The quartet will be answering all questions you have about this year's Silvertips...and will be joining you for dinner as well! Have you wanted to know how Shane Harper is able to fire off quick wristshots? Want to find out from Mike Alexander what it's like to block a 90 mile an hour slapshot? Here's your chance to do so, while also enjoying some delicious southern style cooking.
Many members of the Everett Silvertips Booster Club will also be on hand to distribute information about the club and to sell some calendars, whose proceeds go towards improving the well-being of our players and making sure that they continue to love Everett as their home away from home.
Some delicious dinner music will also be provided by The Jazz Collective, a terrific local group. Alligator Soul is located one block from Comcast Arena at 3121 Broadway, right under the yellow awning. Even if you're not too hungry, we hope you'll still stop by and get some autographs!
Sunday, October 26th: Silvertips World Series Party
We're looking forward to you spending game four of the World Series with us over at Sporty's Beef and Brew, where you'll be able to chat with players, get autographs, and watch exciting playoff baseball! Matthew Ius will be on hand along with several of his Silvertips teammates to discuss their baseball backgrounds while also providing plenty of hockey insight. Though the start time of game four has not yet been announced, it will not interfere with afternoon football as FOX has rights to the World Series in addition to the NFL. Kyle Beach Rejoins Silvertips
The Chicago Blackhawks announced Sunday that forward Kyle Beach has been reassigned to the Everett Silvertips and will reunite with the team in time for practice on Wednesday. With Beach's return, no Silvertips remain at NHL camps.
Beach, 18, has been among the most productive power forwards in junior hockey throughout his two-plus seasons in Everett. Having accounted for 58 goals and 66 assists, his 124 points rank him fifth all-time in Silvertips history, just two behind Dan Gendur's and Torrie Wheat's 126 points. Beach has accumulated a +25 rating in Everett, while his 422 penalty minutes are the most in Everett history. Drafted eleventh overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks, Beach maintained his rugged elements throughout Chicago's training camp and logged one assist throughout four preseason games. The Kelowna, BC native tallied 27 goals and 33 assists for 60 points with the Silvertips last season, compiling 222 penalty minutes over 60 games played.
Kyle will serve as an assistant captain upon his return, joining captain Zack Dailey and assistants Graham Potuer and Taylor Ellington.
The regular season continues on Friday, October 10th at Comcast Arena as the Silvertips host the cross-town rival Seattle Thunderbirds in a Western Hockey League contest beginning at 7:35 pm. For ticket information, including season seats and ticket packages, please call the Silvertips' front office at (425) 252-5100. As always, radio coverage of Silvertips hockey will be provided by North Sound 1380 KRKO, while highlights of audio broadcast, video packages and relevant multimedia will be provided by the Western Hockey League's website, www.whl.ca.
