Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release

Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes rebounded from a tough loss in Calgary on Thursday night in Calgary with a pair of big wins this weekend. On Sunday night in Lethbridge the Canes stepped up to issue the unbeaten Swift Current Broncos their first loss of the season with a 5-2 win. Colton Sceviour notched a natural hat trick to lead the way for the Canes; while Brent Henke notched his first goal since arriving in Lethbridge from the Edmonton Oil Kings. Dwight King had a three point night (1G, 2A) to extend his point scoring streak to five games - he has tallied at least a point in every game he has played since returning from L.A. Kings camp. For Sceviour, the night capped off an eight point weekend (4G, 4A) which saw the Canes handle two of the WHL's toughest teams. Sunday's win was the Canes second in as many nights as the Canes also tallied a 7-3 victory over the highly touted Kelowna Rockets on Saturday.

The Canes will now put their 4-0 home record to the test as they play host to the Calgary Hitmen and Regina Pats in the upcoming thanksgiving weekend.

Storm Warnings:

- Stepping up - Colton Sceviour (5G, 5A), Dwight King (3G, 5A) and Adam Chorneyko (3G, 3A) are the Hurricanes scoring leaders; Sceviour is currently tied for fifth in the WHL scoring race. While King's two shorthanded goals tie him for the league lead.

- Draft Day Duo - Forward Zach Boychuk (Carolina) and Defenseman Luca Sbisa (Philadelphia) both signed entry level NHL contracts with their respective clubs this past week. Both players are expected to remain with their NHL clubs at least for the opening of the North American NHL schedule this week.

- Mitch Fadden and Jeff May both remain in Norfolk (AHL) camp as the Norfolk roster was cut down to 25 this past weekend.

- Injury report: Cam Braes (Concussion - DTD), Carter Bancks (Foot - 1-2 weeks), Garrett Taylor (Wrist - 4-6 Weeks), Dan Iwanski (placed on 45 day Injury Reserve - retroactive to Sept.12/08)
