Fayetteville Marksmen News Release
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The next time the Fayetteville Marksmen professional hockey team returns to the Crown Coliseum to play, they won't skate alone.
They'll be skating over messages of hope and inspiration, and the names of those who've fought and continue to fight the battle against Cancer.
Fayetteville returns home on March 8 & 9 for the team's HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER weekend, but the cause starts well-before the first puck drop of the series. On March 6, all fans are invited out to the Crown to paint their messages on the ice - whatever they may be in reference to the weekend - for just a $5 donation.
This $5 donation - as well as additional proceeds from the weekend - will go to benefit the wonderful organizations and people at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society.
The Marksmen will skate out on March 8 & 9 in purple "Marksmen Fight Cancer" jerseys, with messages in support of who they fight for on the back of their jerseys, above their nameplates.
A jersey will be raffled off on both nights with our Jersey Off The Back raffle. $5 for one ticket and $20 for six tickets, with your choice of jersey. All jerseys will be live-auctioned following the game on March 9.
During the Friday, March 8 game, we're offering 16oz cans of Bud Light for just $2, to show that there can be a fight for a great cause while still having a great time at a hockey game.
Fans can attend the Paint the Ice event and the weekend's games for an affordable price with our ticket packages. For $20, they'll get to paint the ice and a ticket to either night's game, or for $30 they can paint the ice and attend both games on the weekend.
We are so honored to be able to host a weekend so near-and-dear to our community, and be able to have a weekend of family fun while fighting for a cause we believe in. We hope to see you here.
