(Rochester, Minn.) - For just the second time this season, the Rochester Honkers were shutout as they fell to the St. Cloud Rox 1-0 Wednesday at Joe Faber Field. The Rox have now won five of their last six at home and move to 8-6 in the second half and 24-26 overall. The Honkers fall to 5-9 and 22-28.

Honkers starting pitcher Darin Kilfoyl (Saint Johns River State) was tagged with his second loss after tossing three innings surrendering one run on four hits. Ryan Dorney (St. Martin's) came in relief to work three scoreless innings giving up just two hits. Connor McCollum (Colorado Christian) and Michael Brandt (Augustana) each tossed a scoreless inning.

The Honkers offense could muster just three hits in the series finale. Nate Webb (UC Riverside), Mike Peabody (UC Irvine) and Andy Armstrong (Oregon State) all singled for Rochester.

The Rox put up the lone run of the game in the first. Jack Barrie (Northwestern Ohio) hit an RBI single to bring in Landon Stephens (Miami Ohio) to put St. Cloud up 1-0.

Rox starting pitcher Evan Johnson (Creighton) twirled 6 2/3 scoreless innings to pick up his third win of the season. Johnson gave up three hits and struck out eight.

The Honkers are back at Mayo Field Thursday to take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats. Thursday is Field of Future Stars Night presented by Meshbesher & Spence, all RYBA, RYSA, RYHA, Girls Softball and Miracle League players wearing their uniform top gain free general admission. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
