John Named All-Star Captain

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Indianapolis Ice announced today that defenseman Bernie John was selected as the Northern Conference's captain for the 2004 Dodge CHL All-Star Game that takes place on Thursday, January 22nd from the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. John was selected by Scott Muscutt of the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, who is serving as the head coach of the Northern Conference.

The Indianapolis Ice looks to win its fourth contest in a row when the team faces the Oklahoma City Blazers tonight at 8:05 p.m. from the Ford Center. The Ice is coming off a 1-0 shutout victory over the Tulsa Oilers on Tuesday night. Goaltender Jeff Sanger made 37 saves between the pipes, while Bernie John was credited with the game-winning goal in the shootout.

After tonight's matchup the Ice returns home to the Pepsi Coliseum for back-to-back games with the New Mexico Scorpions on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. Saturday night's game will feature a pre-game concert from Christian Pop and Contemporary Artist, Shaun Groves. Doors will open for the concert at 4:30 p.m. with the concert slated to begin at 5:00 p.m.
