Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas â The Laredo Bucks picked up two big wins in the last week to improve their CHL best record to 27-5-2 with 56 points. The Bucks beat San Angelo 4-3 in overtime at the Laredo Entertainment Center on Saturday night. Wednesday night Laredo hammered the visiting Austin Ice Bats 7-3. The Bucks have won three straight and recorded points in 18 of the last 20 games. The Bucks travel to Rio Grande Valley on Friday then return home on Saturday and Sunday to the LEC against Corpus Christi and Bossier - Shreveport. SPECIAL EVENTS
· The Laredo Morning Times will giveaway a Bucks player poster both Saturday and Sunday to the first 2,500 fans.
· Sunday's game is another Laredo Morning Times Family Night. For $40 you get four tickets, four sodas, four hot dogs and four bags of chips. Use the coupon found in the Laredo Morning Times. Offer must be redeemed at the LEC Box Office, limit one coupon per person. Box office hours are 10 a.m. â 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
· After the game on Sunday selected Bucks players will be signing autographs.
NEXT UP
·The Bucks travel to Rio Grande Valley on Friday. Laredo returns home to host the Corpus Christi Rayz on Saturday night at the LEC at 7:30 p.m. The Bucks also host the Bossier â Shreveport Mudbugs at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
BUCKS VS. UPCOMING OPPONENTS
RIO GRANDE VALLEY KILLER BEES · The Bucks are 7-2-0 against the Killer Bees. Laredo is 4-1 at the Dodge Arena and 3-1 at the LEC. The last meeting came on New Years Eve when the Bucks tattooed the Bees 6-1 in front of more than 7,100 fans. Laredo is 12-50 (24.0 %) on the power play against the valley, while the Killer Bees are 3-58 (5.2 %)
CORPUS CHRISTI RAYZ · The Bucks are 6-2-0 against the Rayz. Laredo is 2-2 in Corpus Christi and 4-0 at the LEC. The Rayz have never won a game at the LEC. The last meeting came 12/19/03 when the Bucks beat the Rayz 7-2. The Bucks are 13-46 (28.3 %) on the man advantage against the Rayz, while Corpus Christi is 6-59 (10.2 %)
BOSSIER-SHREVEPORT MUDBUGS · This is the first meeting of the year between the teams. Last year the Bucks were 1-2-0 against Bossier â Shreveport. The last meeting was a 3-2 win by the Mudbugs on March 15th, 2003 in Bossier â Shreveport on the final day of the regular season.
HOME SWEET HOME
· The Bucks are in the middle of a stretch in which they play five of six games on home ice.
MORE BUCKS ALL-STARS
· Bucks forward Chris Grenville and defenseman Serge Dube were selected to the Southern Conference All-Star team as coach's picks on Tuesday. The Bucks will send four players to the 2004 Dodge CHL All-Star Game in New Mexico on January 22nd with forwards Jeff Bes and Brent Cullaton selected to the starting lineup. Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski will lead the Southern Conference team. The All-Star week of events will include a banquet featuring NHL Hall of Famer Phil Esposito, a skills competition among the players and end with the All-Star Game. THE âTHREE AMIGO' LINE
· The Bucks have a potent front line with Jeff Bes, Brent Cullaton and Chris Grenville leading the way. The trio has combined for 61 goals this year with the total representing 44.2% of the 138 goals scored this year by the Bucks. Last night the three combined for five goals and seven assists in the Bucks 7-3 win over Austin.
SHOTS PILING UP
· The Bucks have topped the 30 shot plateau in each of the last five games. The Bucks have totaled more than 30 shots in a game 23 times this season.
CRAZY SCHEDULE
· In the last 11 games Laredo has played Rio Grande Valley five times, Corpus Christi three times, San Angelo twice and Austin once. The Bucks will meet Rio Grande Valley again this Friday.
LUCKY SEVEN
· Laredo has scored seven goals in a game four times this year. Last night the Bucks hammered Austin 7-3. The first three times Laredo scored seven goals in a game all came against Corpus Christi.

· 01/08/03 â WEDNESDAY â For a while this season it was forwards Jeff Bes and Brent Cullaton forming the dynamic duo for Laredo, but after last night it became the âThree Amigos' when Chris Grenville joined the party as the Bucks hammered the Austin Ice Bats 7-3 at the Laredo Entertainment Center in front of 5,811. Bes and Cullaton each had a pair of goals while Cullaton chipped in with a goal and four assists. The Bucks are 27-5-2 with a CHL and Southeast division leading 56 points. The Bucks have won three straight and recorded points in 18 of the last 20 games. Marco Emond stopped 16 of 19 shots to improve to 15-2-2. FINAL SCORE Laredo 7, Austin 3.

· 01/03/03 â SATURDAY â Laredo forward Jeff Bes scored just 94 seconds into overtime to thrill a crowd of 5,508 fans at the Laredo Entertainment Center as the Bucks beat the San Angelo Saints 4-3 on Saturday night. Bes had two assists and the game winner. Forward Chris Grenville had a pair of goals and forward Brent Cullaton had a goal and three assists as the Bucks improved to 26-5-2. The Bucks are 15-1-1 at home this year and have won nine straight on home ice. The Bucks have recorded at least a point in 17 of the last 19 games. Bucks goalie David Guerrera was solid stopping 25 of 28 shots to improve to 12-3-0. FINAL SCORE Laredo 4, San Angelo 3 in overtime.

BUCKS WEEKLY TO DEBUT ON AM 1490 KLNT The Laredo Bucks and Amigo Broadcasting announced last night that Bucks Weekly will debut on the airwaves this Monday night on Laredo News Talk AM 1490 KLNT at 6 p.m. The hour long radio program will allow the fans an opportunity to learn more about the Bucks and hockey. Bucks Weekly will feature game recaps, upcoming game analysis, interviews, rule explanations and more. Every Monday night at 6 p.m. on Laredo News Talk AM 1490 KLNT beginning this coming Monday night.
