Joe Greenspan Named to Team of the Week

PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC defender Joe Greenspan has been named to USL Championship Team of the Week following his game-winning assist in the club's regular season Eastern Conference-clinching 1-0 victory against Birmingham Legion FC on Sunday.

In the 90th minute, Greenspan sent a long ball into the penalty box from about 40 yards out, connecting with the head of Mark Forrest, who put the club ahead late. He also tied for the team high in clearances (two) and interceptions (four).

The Westfield, New Jersey native set career highs in goals (four), assists (two) and points (10) this campaign. He also finished the regular season as the club's clearances leader (151).

This is the first time Greenspan has been named to USL Championship Team of the Week this season.

Greenspan and the Hounds are poised to host their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals playoff match at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium, which will mark a stadium blackout. The opponent is to be determined. The first 1,000 fans 21-years-and-older will receive a free black T-shirt, courtesy of Heineken. In addition, the first 5,000 fans will receive a free gold rally towel, courtesy of AHN.
