Fargo-Moorhead Jets News Release

A 2-0 Fargo-Moorhead Jets lead, and the largest Carlson Coliseum crowd of the season, proved to not be enough as the Bismarck Bobcats defeated the Jets 3-2 on Friday, October 29 before 857 fans.

Bismarck scored the final three goals of the game, including two in the third period, to hand the Jets just their second regulation loss of the season. Fargo-Moorhead drops to 10-2-1, with all three non-wins coming at the hands of Bismarck.

"We had a let-down and it cost us. It's that simple" said head coach Todd Knott. "We played a good game, but Bismarck took advantage of our mistakes which we shouldn't have made."

Kyle Graalum (Fargo, North Dakota) and Tom Dickhudt (Woodbury, Minnesota) gave the Jets a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals midway through the second period. However, Bismarck's Ben Noah scored just 18 seconds after Dickhudt's tally, and the momentum made an obvious swing.

Nick Schneider and Pat Dynan scored in the third period, while Aaron Walski made 33 saves in net for the game to pace Bismarck to the win.

With this being the Jets lone game of the weekend, it marks the first time all season the Jets were shutout in points for a week.

Fargo-Moorhead's attention now shifts to another single-game weekend, but one with some early season hype. The Jets travel to Alexandria, Minnesota, Friday night for a first-place showdown with the Minnesota Blizzard.

The Jets currently lead Minnesota by two points for first place in the West Division.

While the Jets have had an excellent start to the season, Minnesota hasn't been far behind. The Blizzard have gone 8-1-1 in their last ten games.

After this single-game weekend, the Jets will then prepare for a stretch of six games in 14 days. However, five of them will be home games.

Weak Schedule?: The Jets have yet to face a team that is above the .500 mark when they played them. Fargo-Moorhead has faced five teams at .500 and won each of them.

Ahead of Last Season: As a team, the Jets are 10-2-1 after 13 games. At this point last season the Jets were 8-5-0.

Former Jets Update: Jeff Fearing has an assist in three games played for the Army Black Knights, who also have for Jets' head coach Shawn Kurulak as a member of the team's coaching staff... Mark Agnew has two assists in four games for the Quinnipiac Bobcats...Josh Schaffer has yet to record a point in three games for the Air Force Falcons...Shane Holman also hasn't recorded a point in two games for Bemidji State.

Jets home games are played at the John E. Carlson Coliseum in Fargo, North Dakota. All games are broadcasted on STAR 103.9.
