
JetHawks Comeback Shoots Down Sixers

Lancaster, CA - The Lancaster JetHawks scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to come-from-behind and down the Inland Empire 66ers 5-3 at the Hangar on Tuesday. The loss dropped the Sixers to 2-3 against Lancaster (16-20) on the year.
Inland Empire (11-28) Empire starter Jeremy Rhoades allowed two runs in the third inning on a two-run double from Garrett Stubbs. Rhoades would allow no further scoring as the righty went six innings surrendering two runs on four hits with a walk and five K's in a no-decision.
The Sixers got to JetHawks starter Trent Thornton in the fourth when Hutton Moyer reached on a strike-three wild pitch from Thornton. Taylor Ward then singled and Michael Strentz followed with an RBI single to score Moyer. Zach Houchins then drilled a two-run double off the wall in right to give the Sixers a 3-2 lead.
The JetHawks were held down until the eighth when Inland Empire reliever Jose Molina (1-2) gave up back-to-back singles to open the frame. He struck out Stubbs and was lifted for IE closer Eduardo Paredes who immediately hit Drew Ferguson with a pitch. Nick Tanielu then delivered a sac fly to tie the game 3-3. Brooks Marlow followed with a two run double to make it a 5-3 game.
Lancaster reliever Joshua James was dominant and earned the win to improve to 3-1. He tossed four scoreless frames allowing just a hit and a hit batsman while striking out five batters. Bobby Boyd had three hits for the JetHawks in the win while Caleb Adams and Ward had two hits apiece for the Sixers.
