Jermaine Hampton Returns to Barnstormers Coaching Staff

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have announced the return of Jermaine Hampton as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.
"I couldn't be more excited to bring back Jermaine Hampton to the staff in 2023," said Coach Mogensen. "Jermaine showed last year he is an upper echelon defensive mind who is on a path to a future head coaching position. He will be a cornerstone of helping us reach higher levels of success this season."
Hampton coached the Barnstormers defense to a 9-7 regular season record and playoff appearance in the 2022 season.
"Being my first season in the IFL as a coach I was happy with the results we put together," said Coach Hamtpon. "Our defense was near the top in numerous categories. We just need to clean up some of our situational football to crack into the conversation of the best defense in the league. This season I am going to dig in scheme wise. With us returning a lot of players we will ask them to up their game in all facets on field and film and lower the amount of defensive penalties."
The Iowa Barnstormers are excited to welcome Coach Hampton back to the team. With a year of experience under his belt, he returns with a championship mindset for 2023.
