
Jeremy Reed Named the Barons Top Old Navy Slugger for July

BIRMINGHAM, AL â Birmingham Barons slugger Jeremy Reed was named Old Navy's Home Run Hero Award for the month of July, and will be honored in a special on-field pre-game ceremony at the Hoover Met on Friday, August 15. Reed topped the Barons list for homers in July with four dingers. Previous winners for the Barons this year have been Ryan Hankins, Gabe Alvarez and Guillermo Reyes.
The Old Navy Home Run Hero Award, which honors Minor League Baseball's rising stars, is now in its second year. The program tracks the top 15 Minor League home run hitters throughout the season, concluding with the top hitter in all of Minor League Baseball winning both a trophy and $200 for each home run he hit during the season. This season ending presentation will be made in December at the baseball Winter Meetings in New Orleans, Louisiana. Fans will be able to root for their hometown heroes by tracking the top batters on www.minorleagueball.com and www.oldnavy.com.
