BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced equipment manager Jeff Camelio has joined the NHL's Nashville Predators as an assistant equipment manager. Camelio is the second member of the Sound Tigers staff to advance to the NHL this summer joining Garrett Timms who was named strength and conditioning coach by the Islanders last week.

Camelio joined the Sound Tigers just prior to the 2002-03 season after serving as an equipment manager for the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays from 1998 through 2002, including 2000-01 when they won that league's Kelly Cup Championship. While with South Carolina, the Rochester, New York native was also selected to work the 2001 ECHL All-Star Game in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Before joining the Stingrays, Camelio spent eight years as an assistant equipment manager for the AHL's Rochester Americans and worked four seasons with the Rochester Knighthawks professional indoor lacrosse team. He has also served as a clubhouse manager for the South Atlantic League's Charleston (SC) RiverDogs baseball team.

The Sound Tigers expect to introduce their new athletic trainer and equipment manager in the near future.

The Sound Tigers will celebrate their fifth anniversary in Bridgeport as the top affiliate of the Islanders in 2005-06. They will open the regular season with the first of four straight road games when they visit the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday, October 5th. Their first home games at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard will be Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd and 23rd when they host the Portland Pirates and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
