
Crunch and SportsRadio620WHEN Announce Details of \'Replace the Axeman' Contest

Syracuse, NY (August 29, 2005) - The Syracuse Crunch, along with SportsRadio620WHEN, announced today the details of the âReplace the Axeman' contest, to determine Brent Axe's replacement as the Crunch's 2005-06 public address announcer.
On Wednesday, September 7, fans will be able to call the âOn the Block' show, hosted by Brent Axe, between 3-5 p.m., at 1-800-421-WHEN or 421-WHEN, for a chance to be the Crunch's public address announcer for the 2005-06 season. Fans that call-in will be required to read a predetermined script provided by the Syracuse Crunch (available on sportsradio620.com).
Following September 7 ten (10) fans will be chosen to move on to the second round, to be held on September 12. Contestants who make the second round must appear in the WHEN studio to read a script. Following September 12 listeners will be able to vote for their favorite public address announcer on the Crunch's website (www.syracusecrunch.com) or SportsRadio620WHEN website (sportsradio620.com).
The two (2) selected contestants will win an audition to read the public address at one Crunch preseason game. The 2005-06 public address announcer will be chosen by a panel of Syracuse Crunch and WHEN representatives.
Season tickets and partial packages for the 2005-06 season are now available. Fans interested in purchasing season tickets or partial packages can contact the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444.
