Mississippi Braves News Release

JACKSON, TN - Ray Sadler's two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Blair Barbier from second base giving West Tenn a 5-4 win over Greenville Wednesday afternoon at Pringles Park. The G-Braves (6-6) have now lost four straight games after winning six in row.

In a second straight see-saw game between the clubs, the Braves had tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the eighth on a solo home run by first baseman Adam LaRoche, his fourth of the season. The Jaxx then won it in the ninth as Barbier reached second base on a wind-blown double down the right field line. Sadler, batting for the first time on the day, then laced a high-line drive to left field off reliever Kevin Barry (0-1) to give the Diamond Jaxx their fourth straight win.

Greenville starter Adam Wainwright received no decision allowing three runs on seven hits over four and two-thirds innings. His two-run single in the fifth inning, the first hit of his professional career, put the Braves up 3-1.

However, the Diamond Jaxx rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out, two-run single to left center field by Jose Velazquez. West Tenn then plated a run to go up 4-3 in the sixth on a pinch-hit sacrifice fly by Brendan Harris.

The clubs meet in the fourth and final game of the series Thursday night at 7:35pm EDT. Righthanders Bubba Nelson (2-0) for Greenville and John Webb (0-1) for West Tenn will pitch.
