Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

The Jamestown Jammers defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades 3-2 tonight in front of 4,610 at Dutchess Stadium. The teams have split the first two games of the series, which will conclude tomorrow night at 7:05 pm.

The Jammers struck first, as Jammers centerfielders Brent Keys scored on a third inning error made during a pickoff attempt.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Hudson Valley first baseman Steven Tinoco tied the game at 1-1 with a long home run to left field. Tinoco became the eighth different Renegades player to hit a home run in 2010. The following inning, Hudson Valley's Chris Winder (2-for-3 tonight, 5-for-10 in his last three games) singled in fellow outfielder Brian Bryles to give his team a 2-1 lead, ending the scoring until the top of the eighth inning.

Jamestown scored once in the eighth and once in the ninth, holding the Renegades scoreless in both frames and winning 3-2.

Steven Hiscock (2-2) took the loss, allowing his first run since July 6th, a span of six consecutive scoreless appearances (13.2), and 1.2 scoreless innings tonight before he surrendered a run.

Renegades starter Jake Thompson was outstanding once again, allowing one unearned run on three hits (2 SO, 0 BB) in five strong innings, lowering his ERA to 0.29 in 31 innings this season.

The Renegades and the Jammers faceoff in the rubber match tomorrow night with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. The Renegades will send righty Miguel Sierra (2-3, 5.40) and the Jammers will counter with right-hander Michael Ojala (0-0, 2.51).
