MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday that goalkeeper James Pantemis is traveling to Italy to train with Serie A club Bologna FC 1909 from November 14 to December 8, 2018.
"I am looking forward to training again with Bologna FC 1909," said James Pantemis. "It was a very good learning experience for myself last year and it helped me throughout my first professional season."
Pantemis, 21, will to benefit from the synergy between the two clubs for a second time, after enjoying a first training stint with the Italian club in September and December 2017.
After joining the Impact first team around this time last year, Pantemis was then part of the goalkeeper quartet for the 2018 regular season.
Pantemis joined the Academy in 2014, coming from Lakeshore. He played with the Impact U18 for two seasons, before joining FC Montreal in the USL in 2016, playing two games.
At the international level, he has attended three training camps with the Canadian national team. He was first called up to the Canadian U15 team in 2012 and also played with the U16, U17, U18 and U20 teams, before being called up for two senior team camps in 2017. He recently represented Canada at the Toulon tournament in 2018.
