Bakersfield Jam News Release
Bakersfield, CA., December 3 -Kevinn Pinkney scored 23 points and collected 6 rebounds as the Bakersfield Jam defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 87-86, ending Bakersfield's losing streak Sunday night at the Rabobank Arena.. Skyforce forward Andre Brown turned in a double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
"We came out and played team basketball and we got our first win," said Jam forward Kevinn Pinkney. "You have to play 48 minutes of basketball and we did tonight."
Shawn Daniels, formerly on the Sioux Falls roster and now playing for the Jam is proving to be an asset to his hometown team.
"Shawn Daniels made a big difference tonight," Jam assistant coach and former NBA star Sean Rooks said. "He has patience and a good head on his shoulder."
The Skyforce dominated the first three quarters, at one time leading by 16 points, but with 7 turnovers in the last quarter, Sioux Falls fell short.
"They played zone the whole second half and we knew what we had to do," Skyforce head coach Morris McHone said. "We lost by turning the ball over and making silly plays and that is what upsets me the most."
Skyforce forward DeSean Hadley scored 15 points and Jam forward Mike Dean contributed 14 points.
The two teams don't meet again until March 3rd at Sioux Falls. *Please note that all Sunday games are at 4pm, December 16 and January 27 games are at 8pm and every other game is at 7:30pm.
