Colorado 14ers News Release
DENVER, Dec. 3 - The Idaho Stampede (1-5) broke a five game losing streak to start the season with a 99-86 win over the Colorado 14ers (3-1) on Sunday night. The loss is the first of the season for Colorado.
David Jackson scored 15 of Idaho's 31 4th quarter points on his way to a game-high 28 on the night. Eddie Robinson and Ricky Sanchez added 16 points apiece for the Stampede.
"David Jackson and Ricky obviously made some big shots, but we're not a one-man or two-man team," said Stampede head coach Bryan Gates. "It was one of those deals where it was going to take a total effort from everybody, and we decided to break down and stop somebody."
Idaho held Colorado to 41% shooting, and 32 points under the 14ers league leading average of 118.3 points per game. Von Wafer led the 14ers with 20 points, and Elton Brown pulled down 16 rebounds in the loss
The Stampede continues on the road Tuesday night when they will visit the Dakota Wizards. Colorado is off until Sunday, Dec. 10 when the 14ers begin a three game road trip at Los Angeles.
