WHO'S HOT: Fort Worth and Colorado have started the season 3-0. Anaheim has won three straight after starting the season 0-2.
WHO'S NOT: Idaho has started 0-5 and Bakersfield 0-4. After a 3-0 start, Los Angeles has lost its last two.
UTAH BOUND: The NBA Development League announced Saturday that an expansion team has been awarded to Orem, Utah, for the 2007-08 season and will play at the McKay Event Center. The team is owned and operated by Brandt Andersen, Founder and CEO of G Code Ventures.
THEY SAID IT: "The D-League continues to provide the NBA and its teams the opportunity to cultivate talent, test new ideas and give young roster players a means to improve through game competition. That commitment, coupled with delivering the game of basketball in an affordable, fun and family-oriented atmosphere, has more investors seeking to bring the D-League to their communities." ... NBA Commissioner David Stern.
ONE WORD, AZUBUIKE: Several players had big games in three Saturday games, but none bigger than Fort Worth's Kelenna Azubuike. Against Los Angeles, Azubuike connected on 13-of-17 field goal attempts, including 5-of-5 from behind the three-point line, to score 35 points in 37 minutes.
