
Jam Shoots 60-Percent , Hammers Flash 122-81

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Jam shot 60-percent from the floor, including 61-percent from behind the three-point line, on the way to demolishing the Utah Flash, 122-81, in NBA Development League action Saturday at Rabobank Arena.
The Jam made 48-of-79 field goal attempts, 11-of-18 three point tries, and were credited with 42 assists on the way to improving to 5-1 on the season. The Flash lost to Bakersfield for the second time in six days and dipped to 2-3.
The 41-point loss was the worst in Flash franchise history. The previous worst loss was 24 points on two occasions last season. Bakersfield led by as many as 46 early in the fourth quarter.
Derrick Byars made 10-of-13 field goal attempts and scored 28 points to lead Bakersfield. DeMarcus Nelson converted 10-of-12 from the floor and scored 24. Jeff Trepagnier came off the Jam bench to score 17, while Nick Lewis chipped in 14 and Ashanti Cook added 10. Nine of 11 Jam players were credited with at least two assists.
Bill Walker scored 23 points on 8-of-10 from the floor to lead the Flash. J.R. Giddens and Gavin Grant added 10 points apiece.
The Flash returns to action Friday when the Dakota Wizards visit the McKay Events Center in Orem. Tipoff is 7 p.m. Bakersfield is host to Tulsa on Thursday.
