Bakersfield Jam News Release
Bakersfield, CA Dec. 29 - The Bakersfield Jam were able to extend their win streak to four games before a crowd of 2,371 Friday night with their 93 - 86 victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The Jam was lead by Brandon Bowman's 24 points and Gerry McNamara's 11 assists.
Bakersfield's victory on Friday pushed their record to 5-7, a franchise best. "We were able to pick up this win due to the solid all-around defense," said Jam Coach Jim Harrick. "Bowman and McNamara had some key contributions down the stretch tonight."
This hard fought game dropped the D-Fenders to a record of 9-6. "We had too many critical turnovers," said Los Angeles coach Daniel Panaggio. "We were out-rebounded, out-hustled, and out-played in the last five minutes of the game."
Brandon Bowman scored 24 points and pulled down 9 rebounds during the team's fourth straight win. "The team is starting to come together and play as a unit," said Bowman.
Gerry McNamara was integral to the Jam's victory on Friday, contributing 15 points and 11 assists. "Its great to have Gerry on the team," said Bowman. "He is a floor general and keeps everybody organized."
The Jam and D-Fenders play again on January 28th in Los Angeles.
