Anaheim Arsenal News Release

ANAHEIM, CA - The Anaheim Arsenal came out of the locker room and had a solid third quarter to overcome the small deficit and did not look back as they top the Bakersfield Jam by the score of 101-91 to gather their second home win of the season.

After trailing by two points at halftime, the Arsenal jumped out to a six-point lead heading into the fourth quarter as they cruised to the 10-point victory. The game was close for three quarters as the two teams exchanged the lead eight times, but it was the Arsenal that reigned victorious in the end.

"It was tough having back-to-back games with only eight players," said Jam head coach Jim Harrick. "We were up in the third quarter but hit a wall and crashed; that was the story of our night."

Kevinn Pinkney led the Jam with his 18 points, including his12 in the first quarter. He also pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds. Andre McCollum, Gerry McNamara and Roderick Riley also scored in double figures for Bakersfield.

Corsley Edwards remained hot for the Arsenal, recording his seventh straight double-double, as he poured in 24 points, complimented by his 14 rebounds. Andre Owens led all scorers, with his season-high 32 points in addition to his nine rebounds.

"This was a much need win for us," said Arsenal head coach Larry Smith. "Our guys are a little banged up and we came out tonight and put together an all around solid performance and we were able to pull out the win."

The Arsenal (6-9) will continue their five-game home stand on Thursday as they take on the Idaho Stampede in Anaheim at 7:00pm. The Jam snapped their four-game winning streak to fall to 5-8 on the season and will return home to take on Austin on Thursday at 7:30pm in Bakersfield.
