Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (January 19)-One day following his 26th birthday, Brahmas goaltender Brett Jaeger was announced the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the week for January 11-17.

Jaeger went 2-0 for the week picking up big wins over the league's reigning champions the Arizona Sundogs Friday and Southeast divisional rivals, Laredo Bucks, Saturday evening. The second year Brahma posted his second shutout of the season against Arizona stopping all 37 Sundog shots.

On Saturday, Jaeger earned his 18th victory of the season and helped increase the Brahmas lead in the Southeast with a 6-2 win over Laredo. The Peace River, ALTA native kept things in line between the pipes for Texas, giving up only two goals, ending his nearly 120 minute streak of not allowing a goal.

Jaeger currently leads the league in save percentage with a .924 and is second in wins with 18.

Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong is delighted with his goaltender's latest performance.

"Jaegs has been unbelievable for us this season. It's great to see him get acknowledged for his play and commitment in goal," said Wildfong.

Jaeger and the Brahmas will be tested this week on the road beginning Wednesday to square up against the Laredo Bucks at 7 PM. Texas will then play three games in three nights starting Friday and Saturday in Amarillo (7:05 PM) and concluding back home at the NYTEX Sports Centre for a 3:05 PM matinee game against Rio Grande Valley.
