(Odessa, TX) - The Odessa Jackalopes are "running" a fundraiser for the Permian High School Cross Country Teams, so to speak, with their "Mojo Madness" event this weekend.

Saturday morning the Jackalopes will hold a 5K Jackalopes Jog and a One Mile Slapjack Sprint for the Odessa/Midland community. People of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate. Registration will begin at 7:00 AM on Saturday, and the races will start at 9:00 AM. You can also register in advance by visiting www.active.com or visiting the Jackalopes' Offices at 4201 Andrews Hwy. in Odessa.

The cost of registration is $20 for the 5K race and $12 for the Slapjack Sprint.

Participants will receive a ticket voucher to Saturday's game against the Tulsa Oilers (game time is 7:05 PM), a discount coupon to Astro Golf and Games, a coupon for a free bowling game at Diamond Lanes, a coupon for a free car wash at the Kersh Car Wash Company, and a t-shirt (5K participants only) or a Jackalopes puck (One Mile participants only). The gift pack is valued at over $30.

Each race course will be held at the Ector County Coliseum and post-race refreshments will be available. Prizes will also be handed out to the top three male and female finishers in different age groups.

Participants will also have the opportunity to race against Stephanie Sobic from KMID-2 News. Stephanie is a former cross country athlete - those that win will receive a prize. Those that don't will also receive a prize.
