STANDINGS UPDATE After winning two of their three games last week, the Rage are firmly entrenched in second placed in the Northwest Division with 44 points, 15 behind the first-place Eagles and 11 ahead of the third-place Rush. In the Northern Conference standings that affect playoff position, Rocky Mountain currently resides in the fifth and final playoff spot, three points back of both the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and Mississippi RiverKings, who are tied for third in the conference behind Colorado and Oklahoma City (49 points).
HOME COOKING The team's four games this week end a stretch of 12 of 13 at Broomfield Event Center. Next week Rocky Mountain then hits the road, where it will play 12 of 13 through the end of February.
STREAKING AT THE BEC Three Rage linemates had long point streaks that ended over the weekend. Brent Cullaton generated a 10-game point streak (6g-11a) from Dec. 31 - Jan. 17 that was the league's current longest until Rocky Mountain's leading scorer was held without a point yesterday against Wichita. Daymen Rycroft had a nine-game point streak (6g-6a) that also ended yesterday, and Colt King saw an eight-game run (4g-6a) come to a halt on Saturday against Odessa. The longest point streaks in the league this year are a pair of 17-gamers by Laredo's Jeff Bes and Tulsa's Michel Beausoleil.
500 CLUB With an assist on the Rage's first goal on Friday against the Thunder, Scott Wray reached 500 points for his career (252g-248a). The 10th-year pro is on a nice run the last 10 games, recording seven goals and six assists to climb into fourth on the team's scoring rolls with 30 points overall (16g-14a).
