
Jacob DeGrom to Rehab for St. Lucie on Friday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - New York Mets ace and two-time Cy Young award winner Jacob deGrom will make another rehab start for the St. Lucie Mets on Friday.
The St. Lucie Mets are on the road at the Daytona Tortugas (Reds affiliate). First pitch Friday at Jackie Robinson Ballpark is 7:05 p.m.
DeGrom (stress reaction in scapula) began a rehab assignment with St. Lucie on Sunday. He struck out five of the six Jupiter Hammerheads he faced and threw 24 pitches (18 strikes).
Friday will be a homecoming for deGrom. He resides in nearby DeLand and he played for Stetson University, which is also located in DeLand. DeLand is 30 minutes from Daytona.
Friday's game will not be video streamed but can be heard on the St. Lucie Mets Baseball Network (www.stluciemets.com) and WPSL 1590 AM on the Treasure Coast.
