JACKSON, TN. - The Jackson Generals have made the following roster moves prior to tonight's 6:05 pm series opener against the Mississippi Braves at Pringles Park. Recently acquired 3B Francisco Martinez and DH Luis Jimenez have been added to the Generals roster. To make room, OF Joe Dunigan and INF Leury Bonilla have been transferred to A+ High Desert of the California League.

Added to Generals roster:

- DH Luis Jimenez (from Triple-A Tacoma)

- 3B Francisco Martinez (recently with AA Erie)

Transferred to A+ High Desert:

- OF Joe Dunigan

- INF Leury Bonilla

MARTINEZ, 20, hit.282 (98x348) with 14 doubles, 4 triples, 7 home runs and 46 RBI in 91 games with AA Erie in the Eastern League. After batting .179 in the opening month of the season (12x67), Martinez has hit .306 (86x281) with 48 runs scored, 13 doubles, 4 triple, 5 home runs and 35 RBI over his last 71 games. The Venezuelan native played for the World squad in the 2011 All-Star Futures Game in Phoenix. He was rated by Baseball America as the Tigers 4th-best prospect entering the 2011 season. Originally signed by the Tigers as a non-drafted free agent in 2007, Martinez has combined to hit .277 (307x1108) in 297 career minor league games.

JIMENEZ, 29 began season on the DL and joined team on 4/20 (Haveman to Tacoma)...had 2 hits in debut on 4/20@MTG...hit first homerun on 4/21@MTG...2 homerun game on 4/24 vs. MOB, w/5 RBI...promoted to Tacoma on 5/12, .w/Tacoma 61G, .282 AVG, 12 HR, 50 RBI, .376 OBP...Jimenez was signed in January by the Mariners as a free agent.

DUNIGAN, 25 also began season on disabled list and missed the first 47 games of the season with an elbow strain...activated from DL and extended spring training on 5/28@-MOB for double-header that night...batted .215, with 12 doubles, 7 home runs and 30 RBI during 49 games with the Generals

BONILLA, 26 Began season with Triple-A Tacoma (24G, 15x73, .205/0/5) and was sent to Jackson on June 28th ...while with Jackson batted .247, with 3 triples and 5 RBI in 21 games. High Desert will be the third team Bonilla has played for this season.

The Generals roster stands at 24 active players, 12 pitchers, 2 catchers, 6 infielders, 4 outfielders and 5 disabled players.
