
Jackson & Chitaroni Commit to Wolves

(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are please to announce that Defenceman, Nolan Jackson and Forward, Hudson Chitaroni have committed to the hockey club following training camp.
Nolan Jackson was chosen 37th overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. Scouting reports from the Wolves depict him as a mobile two-way defenseman who excels in both offensive and defensive aspects of the game. Nolan is equally adept to join the rush and make meaningful contributions on the offensive front while maintaining a strong command of play in the defensive zone. Standing at 6' and weighing 168 lbs., the Innisfil, ON native compiled 32 points, including 9 goals and 23 assists, across 38 games played last season.
"We are very happy to sign Nolan who had a terrific training camp," said Sudbury Wolves VP and General Manager, Rob Papineau. "His skating and processing of the game have us very excited about his future with the Sudbury Wolves."
Hudson Chitaroni is the Wolves 3rd-round pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. During his 2022-23 campaign, he earned the prestigious NOHA Player of the Year award, amassing an impressive 28 goals and 34 assists in just 33 games played. Notably, Hudson son of, Terry Chitaroni, a Wolves' alumnus and former captain. Wolves scouting staff like to describe Husdson as a highly intelligent player paired with an exceptional work ethic.
"We are very excited to have Hudson commit to the hockey club. He followed up a great season last year with a great off season and camp. His future with our team is very bright," added Papineau.
The Sudbury Wolves have trimmed their pre-season roster to 30 players. The Wolves roster will consist of a combination of 3 goaltenders, 11 defencemen, and 16 forwards. They will get their first taste of action this season on Sunday, September 3rd at 2:07pm in Sault Ste. Marie to take on the Greyhounds.
"We were happy with all the players that showed up here today, said Sudbury Wolves VP and General Manager, Rob Papineau. "From top to bottom the young players really fit in here with the speed, the skill, and the talent, it seems like every year it gets better and better. Overall, our group was really happy with the players and their performance this week."
"It seemed like this year's training camp flew by, we are really impressed by all the talent," said Sudbury Wolves Assistant GM and Head Coach, Ken MacKenzie. "I was excited to get to training camp, get the season going, see all the new faces, and the young talent. Everyone showed up competing hard from day one, right up to the end. These kids were all impressive, hardworking, and competitive, giving it 100% which was exactly what we wanted." .
The Wolves will open their 2023-24 regular season at home on Friday, September 29th as they host the Brantford Bulldogs at 7:00pm. Pre-season tickets are on-sale now while single game tickets for the regular season will go on sale September 4th at 10am.

Season Members can pick-up their Season Membership Packages beginning Wednesday, September 6th and Thursday, September 7th at Greater Sports located in the New Sudbury Centre during regular Mall hours.
