Odessa Jackalopes News Release
(Odessa, TX) - Phil Plante snapped a wrist shot off the crossbar and over the shoulder of David Cacciola to give the Jackalopes a 4-3 shootout lead in the 10th round. Juha Toivonen stopped Craig Minard to seal the win as the Jacks beat the Texas Brahmas in comeback fashion, 4-3, at the Ector County Coliseum on Saturday night.
With the extra attacker on the ice, Odessa's Collin Circelli jammed home a rebound with 57 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 3-3 and force overtime. Circelli's goal was needed after Jason Deitch put the Brahmas ahead at 11:28 of the third period.
Craig Minard opened up the scoring with the only goal of the first period at 8:17 to give Texas a 1-0 lead after one.
Odessa's Mike Lesperance and the Brahmas' Brandon Benedict each scored in the second period, making the score 2-1 after the second period.
Mike Ramsay tied the game for Odessa at 2-2 with a goal at 9:31, before Deitch and Circelli each added their goals.
In the shootout Brian Swiniarski, Sebastien Thinel, Circelli and Plante all scored for Odessa. For Texas Jason Deitch, Jordan Cameron, and Minard all scored. Cameron's and Minard's goal were in the overtime session to keep the shootout alive.
