Bucks Close Out Road Trip Today

AMARILLO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will close out their season-high five game road trip today when they travel to take on the Amarillo Gorillas. Game time is 4:05pm

Last night the Bucks dropped their second game in a row on the road trip, as they fell 6-4 to the Gorillas. Amarillo scored four third period goals last night, including two empty netters. The Bucks had a 3-2 lead in the third period, but could not hold it. Darryl Smith had two goals to lead the Bucks. Smith now has 30 goals on the season.

The Bucks enter today's game in the third playoff spot in the Conference, sitting 13 points behind Texas.

After sweeping New Mexico to open their road trip last weekend, the Bucks have dropped their last two games to fall to 2-2 on the trip.

Amarillo enters tonight with the worst record in the Southern Conference. The Gorillas have allowed a league-high 216 goals this season, while scoring just 148 goals.

The Gorillas snapped their three game losing streak last night, as they beat the Bucks.

Sam Ftorek leads Amarillo in scoring with 50 points (15-35=50).

Laredo will return home for the final Big Buck Thirsty Thursday of the season on February 26th when they host Arizona at the LEC, where beer will be $2 all game long.
