Jacks' Comeback Falls Short, Lose in OT

(Wichita, KS) - Jason Tessier's wrist shot from the point deflected past Alexandre Vincent to give the Wichita Thunder an overtime win over the Jackalopes on Saturday night at the Kansas Coliseum. 6-5 was the final score.

The Jacks tied the game at 5-5 thanks to third period goals from Collin Circelli and Ryan Palmer. Mike Zbriger scored a goal for the Thunder in the third as well.

Both teams exchanged goals in the second period as Joel Hanson made it a two goal lead for Wichita at 6:05. Kory Karlander pulled the Jacks back to within one on a power play goal at 10:22. Dominic Leveille and Phil Plante had the assists. It was 4-3, Thunder, after two periods.

In the first period both teams combined for five goals as the Jacks opened up a 2-0 lead as Leveille and Collin Circelli each scored. The Thunder answered back with three unanswered goals from Chris Tarkir, Jason Duda on the power play, and Brad Thompson added a shorthanded tally with 3.8 seconds left in the period.

The Jackalopes continue their five game road trip when they head to New Mexico for the final time this season to face the Scorpions on Wednesday night. Game time is set for 8:15 PM and can be heard on 97 Gold.
