Jacks Comeback Falls Short, Lose 5-3

(Odessa, TX) - Jason Deitch scored the game winner on the power play with 2:15 remaining in the third period as the Texas Brahmas topped the Jackalopes, 5-3, on Saturday night at the NYTEX Sports Center.

Jordan Cameron put the game out of reach a shorthanded, empty net goal for Texas with 1:06 remaining in the game.

Texas opened up a 3-0 lead in the second period as Travis Bunga scored at 2:01 on the power play, and Kevin McLeod netted a Brahmas' goal at 11:29. The Jacks clawed their way back into the game as Russ Moyer roofed a wrist shot between the circles at 15:02 unassisted. Then :13 into the Jacks' sixth power play, Mike Lesperance scored on a shot from the point to make it 3-2 after two periods.

In the first period, Tyler Skworchinski opened up the scoring with a power play goal at 11:45.

The Jackalopes close out their three game weekend tomorrow at home against the Mississippi Riverkings. Game time is 7:05 PM.
