Jackie Robinson Night at KeySpan Park
The first time he stepped onto the field in 1947 he became immortalized as one of the great sports legends of all time. Overcoming prejudice, Jackie Robinson helped narrow the racial divide across America with his dazzling play on the baseball diamond. On Sunday, August 3rd in the borough that adopted him as one of its own, the Brooklyn Cyclones will host Jackie Robinson Night. It will pay tribute to one of the most charismatic figures in American history and one of the greatest athletes ever to play the game of baseball. The Cyclones plan to hold a ceremony to retire Robinson's number, 42.
