Staten Island Yankees News Release

[Staten Island, NY] - Alexander Santa delivered Tyson Hanish with the winning run with a single up the middle, as the Staten Island Yankees defeated the Hudson Valley Renegades, 5-4.

The win broke a five-game losing streak for the Baby Bombers.

Santa had three hits in the game, scoring one run and providing the game-winner.

The Yankees had a 4-3 lead in the top of the ninth, before the Renegades tied the game at four when Mike Gardner gave up a bases loaded walk.

John Picco relieved Gardner in the 10th inning, got out of a jam in the inning and had a 1-2-3 eleventh.

Hanish drew a leadoff walk and advanced to second on a failed pickoff attempt. He was then sacrificed to third by Melky Cabrera before Santa drove him home.

Staten Island will travel to Brooklyn on Friday. They will return home on Saturday to face the Cyclones. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
