LOVES PARK, IL - David Cooper scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eleventh as the Rockford RiverHawks topped the Joliet JackHammers 4-3 Saturday night in front of 2,519 fans at Road Ranger Stadium. The JackHammers will look to avoid the sweep tomorrow afternoon at 4:05 p.m.

The RiverHawks (9-12) got a one out single from Travis Scott in the eleventh off Griffin Bailey (0-1), but retired Scott on a David Cooper fielder's choice. Cooper then stole second and third with Kevin House at the plate, scoring on a 3-2 wild pitch in the dirt for the game winning run.

Joliet (11-11) took a 3-2 lead into the eighth inning with Michael Rocco coming out of the bullpen. Randall Simon sent the second pitch from Rocco over the right field wall to tie the game up at three.

Devin Anderson got the start for the JackHammers and turned in a solid six innings of work, allowing only two runs on ten hits with one walk and one strikeout.

The JackHammers put Anderson in line for the victory, plating two runs in the fifth. Joe Billick led off the frame with his first home run of the season to tie the game at two. Roberto Mena restarted the offense with a one out double, bouncing starter Justin Knoff from the game. After Jonathan Wyatt walked, Kevin Rios singled home Mena to give the JackHammers their first lead at 3-2.

Knoff, who made a spot start for the injured Mike Wood, lasted 4.1 innings surrendering three runs (two earned) on four hits.

Bailey was tagged with his first loss, tossing a season high 2.2 innings out of the bullpen.

Jon Huizinga (2-0) got credit for the victory, working a scoreless top of the eleventh.

Mena was the lone Joliet player with a multi hit game, going 3-4 with two doubles and a run scored. Billick, Rios and Freddie Thon each knocked home a run in the setback.

The JackHammers will trot out Ross Stout (1-2) on three days rest tomorrow opposite Kyle Ruwe (0-3). First pitch is set for 4:05 p.m. with a 3:55 p.m. pre-game show on the JackHammers Radio Network.
