
JackHammers announce more roster moves

JOLIET, IL-The Joliet JackHammers are pleased to announce the signing of left-handed pitcher Casey Wernke. Wernke, who pitched collegiate at Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska, just finished up his senior season with the NAIA school. Wernke went 3-1 with a 3.38 E.R.A.in 12 appearances and worked as both a starter and a reliever during the 2006 collegiate season.
The JackHammers also placed infielder Billy Boyer on irrevocable waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
Loose Gravel: The JackHammers total number of active pitchers remains at ten for the time being. The total number of infielders is at five for the JackHammers. The JackHammers have partial season tickets, mini-plan ticket packages, individual tickets and a variety of group ticket packages available for the 2006 season. The next home stand begins June 13 at Silver Cross Field.
