Jackets Win with Noonan's Walk-Off Homer in 11th

Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (41-28, 33-17) won their second straight game over the West Virginia Power (32-37, 34-17) with a 2-1 win in walk-off fashion in the 11th inning on Tuesday night. Nick Noonan connected for the walk-off homer and Mitch Lively recorded the win in relief.

Noonan led off the bottom of the 11th connecting for his sixth home run of the season over the right-field wall off reliever Cory Frerichs. Frerichs (5-8) just entered the game to start the 11th inning.

Lively (1-0) worked a scoreless top half of the 11th for the win allowing one hit and striking out one.

Augusta took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Juan Ciriaco connected for a one-out RBI single scoring Shane Jordan.

The Power tied the game at 1-1 in the seventh inning on a two-out RBI single from Lee Haydel off of starter Craig Clark.

Clark go the no-decision in the start for Augusta allowing one run on five hits over a career high 7.2 innings. Clark walked three and struck out five.

Ryan Paul worked 2.1 shutout innings in relief of Clark allowing just two hits, one walk and striking out seven.

The GreenJackets look for the series victory tomorrow night over the Power and will send right-hander T.J. Brewer (7-4, 2.83) to the mound while West Virginia counters with right-hander R.J. Seidel (7-4, 5.40). First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Game Notes:

The GreenJackets improved to 40-21 at home this season, 20-6 in the second half.

The GreenJackets have a 3.0 game lead in the Southern Division.

Nick Noonan extended his hitting streak to 10 games with his home run in the 11th, his only hit of the game.

Ryan Paul has allowed just two runs over his last 24.1 innings pitched out of the bullpen.

Tuesday night was Augusta's fourth walk off win of the season, second time coming from a home run.

The GreenJackets are 6-5 in extra innings.
