Salisbury, Md.- Bradley Suttle and Brandon Laird each drove in a pair of runs, and Jesus Montero went 3-5 with an RBI to lead the RiverDogs to the 5-2 victory on Tuesday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Charleston also benefitted from six shutout innings thrown by their bullpen, four from Ryan Zink that gave him his second win of the year. Zink struck out seven over four dominant innings for the RiverDogs.

An unearned run off Chris Salberg broke a scoreless tie in the third inning as the visitors scored first. Jesus Montero's double plated Austin Krum with two outs to give Charleston the 1-0 edge. In the bottom half of the frame, Delmarva broke through with two runs of their own. Matt Angle, Ryan Adams, and Anthony Martinez all singled in the inning and the Shorebirds had a 2-1 lead with the help of a stolen base and a wild pitch.

The lead would last until the top of the sixth, when Brandon Laird's two run homer off Salberg, the 18th jack of the year for the RiverDogs first baseman, propelled Charleston into the lead. An inning later, the Dogs added a pair of insurance tallies off reliever Cliff Flagello when Bradley Suttle tripled to plate Austin Krum and Justin Snyder.

The Shorebirds had just one baserunner over the final four innings and never seriously threatened the RiverDogs relief. Charleston closer Jonathan Ortiz recorded his 29th save with a perfect ninth inning.
