
Intimidators Back Into Win Column With 5-3 Victory Over Tourists

Asheville, NC - The Intimidators (24-24) came from behind with three runs in the 7th inning to knock off the Asheville Tourists (29-22) by the score of 5-3 at McCormick Field.
The Intimidators pushed three runs across in the 7th thanks to Jorge Castillo and Mark Fleisher. Castillo drove in two runs with a bases loaded single plating Sergio Miranda and Eduardo Escobar to go in front 4-3. Fleisher followed with a broken bat RBI single to left field to score Brent Morel for a 5-3 advantage.
Kannapolis started its scoring in the fifth inning with a two-run home run from Sergio Miranda. His second homer of the season broke a scoreless tie.
Intimidators starter Charlie Shirek tossed four scoreless inning before giving up a three spot to the Tourists. In the 5th inning Shirek gave up three hits and hit a batter before getting ejected for arguing with the umpires. Hector Santiago (5-1) came on in relief to get the Intimidators out of the 5th frame and tossed 3.1 innings without giving up a run for the win.
Tyson Corley threw the final 1.1 innings for his first save of the year.
The Intimidators continue the eight-game roadtrip tomorrow night in Asheville. The first pitch is set for 7:05pm. Coverage starts at intimidatorsbaseball.com with Dan Bumpus at 6:50pm.
