
Jackets Take Series Finale with 13-7 Friday Win

NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Every GreenJacket starter had at least one hit while Diego Rincones, Jacob Gonzalez, and Franklin Labour had three each in a 13-7 GreenJackets win over the BlueClaws on Friday night at SRP Park.
Augusta (24-17/60-49) took two of three from the BlueClaws (17-22/46-63) in the lone series between the two teams this season.
The 13 runs were the second-most allowed by Lakewood this year (14) and Augusta's 16 hits were the most by a BlueClaws opponent in 2019.
The GreenJackets broke open a 4-4 game with five runs in the sixth inning off Tom Sutera. Ricardo Genoves broke the 4-4 tie with a two-run double before an RBI double from Ismael Mungia, an RBI single from Simon Whiteman, and an RBI single from Diego Rincones.
All five runs were charged to Sutera (0-1), who took his first loss in his second game with the BlueClaws.
Augusta added two runs off Andrew Schultz in the seventh inning and two off Mark Potter in the eighth.
Gonzalez, Shane Matheny, and Ricardo Genoves all drove in two for the GreenJackets in the win.
Jonathan Guzman and Juan Aparicio had two hits apiece for the BlueClaws and Carlos De La Cruz drove in two runs in the loss.
The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the first on a fielder's choice groundout from Carlos De La Cruz. After Jacob Gonzalez's two-run single in the home first, the BlueClaws tied the game on a SAC fly from Hunter Stovall int eh second inning.
Lakewood went ahead in the third, getting two runs on one hit. A bases loaded walk to Juan Aparicio brought in Jonathan Guzman and McCarthy Tatum then scored on a wild pitch to give Lakewood a 4-2 lead.
The GreenJackets tied the game with two runs in the fourth on RBI singles from Shane Matheny and Anyesber Sivira.
Peter Lannoo (1-0) earned the win with two innings of relief, allowing one run.
The BlueClaws head to Asheville and open a series with the Tourists at 6:05 pm on Saturday night. LHP Taylor Lehman (0-0) starts for Lakewood.
