New Jersey Jackals News Release

Rene Leverett hit a three-run home run in the first inning, and the Jackals never lead. After winning the first two games of the series, the Jackals lose this afternoon's game 6-3.

Matt Chico went five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits. He drops to 0-4.

Bryan Rembisz, with his concoction of deliveries, arm angles, and hesitations, threw seven and two-third innings of three-run ball. He improves to 3-0.

Brian Sabatella and Nick Giarraputo added solo home runs in the sixth and eighth, respectively. Giarraputo leads the Jackals in average (.433), home runs (eight), and RBIs (29).

With the loss, the Jackals drop to 15-8, one and a half games over the now 12-8 Capitales. These two teams will face off again Friday through Sunday in Little Falls

The Jackals have off tomorrow, but will send RHP Steve Fox (3-0, 2.92) to the mound Tuesday against Rockland. Fox is coming off his one-run performance against St. Paul last Tuesday. First pitch is 7:05 ET, with the pregame show 10 minutes prior. Corey Scheiner has the call.

The New Jersey Jackals, proud members of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium located on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, NJ. 2012 single-game tickets, season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 973-746-7434.
