New Jersey Jackals News Release
Little Falls, NJ - Every Jackals starter got at least one hit, five had two hits or more and three hit homeruns, but starting pitcher Josh Brey needed hardly any of it in the Jackals 11-2 win..
In front of 4,676 fans, the fifth sellout of the season at Yogi Berra Stadium, Brey allowed only two runs on two hits as he cruised through seven innings to record his fourth victory of the season. The Pioneers got on the board in the second with two runs, but the Jackals hurler proceeded to retire 14 of the next 15 batters he faced.
The seventh consecutive Jackals victory saw the first three hitters in the lineup go a combined 8-for-13, including Ricardo Cordova, who went 3-for-5 with a double, triple and 2 RBI. Chris Rowan, John Lindsey and Elvis Corporan all went deep for the Jackals in the game. Rowan's three-run shot in the bottom of the second put the Jackals ahead for good. Designated hitter Mike Rucci, in his first start for the team, went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored.
The Jackals continue their series against the Pioneers tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. For tickets and other information, please call the Jackals Ticket Office at 973-746-7434 or visit www.jackals.com.
