On Tuesday, August 3, 2004, Jackals' starting pitcher Aaron Myers was named the Rawlings Northeast League Player of the Month. Myers went 4-1 in the month of July, with a 1.06 ERA. In 34 innings of work, Myers scattered 29 hits while striking out 38. Also during the month, Myers tossed a complete game, seven inning shutout of the Elmira Pioneers, in which he struck out eleven batters. At the time of the award, Myers was second in the Northeast League in strikeouts with 75.

The game scheduled between the New Jersey Jackals and the Elmira Pioneers on Wednesday, August 4, 2004, was suspended due to rain, entering the bottom of the third inning. New Jersey held a 3-0 lead over Elmira, partially due to a two-run homerun by Jay LaFlair. Because of the rain, the Elmira grounds crew worked till after the scheduled start time to get the field playable. The game did not get underway till after 9:00 p.m. The game will be continued on Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at 5:00 p.m., at Yogi Berra Stadium. The first game will begin in the bottom of the third, and will go a full nine innings. The second contest will be seven innings.

The New Jersey Jackals will be holding its 2nd annual NJ PETS Dog Days of Summer on Sunday, August 15, 2004, at Yogi Berra Stadium. It is an opportunity to bring your dog to the ballpark, participate in free giveaways, get portraits, and receive interesting literature on dog grooming provided by NJ PETS, Best Friend's Photography, and Mike's Feed Farm. The ballgame is scheduled to begin at 5:05 p.m., but those who arrive by 4:00 p.m. will have the opportunity to take their dog onto the field and participate in a pet tricks contest.

The Jackals will also be holding a blood drive at Yogi Berra Stadium, on Tuesday, August 17, 2004. A Bloodmobile will be located at the ballpark. There will also be a complimentary cholesterol screen for all donors. For information, please call The Blood Center of New Jersey at 1-800-NJ-BLOOD, Ext. 140.
