
Jackals take early lead, defeat Grays 9-2

The top of the second inning was huge for the Jackals. Elvis Corporan earned a run on an amazing RBI double by Darren Ciraco. Horace Lawrence followed up with a single that brought in Chris Rowan and Ciraco. Aaron Myers also contributed to the inning with his own RBI double that left the second at 4-0 with New Jersey leading.
In the fourth inning, Ricardo Cordova smacked out a two run homerun. Chris Rowan followed in the fifth with his own solo shot.
The Grays first run came in the fifth inning. Alex Garcia scored on a ground out to first base by Mark Burke. Charles Peterson had an astonishing night as he went 3-for-4 on the day, with an RBI single in the ninth inning.
Joel Bennett pitched six strong innings allowing only one run and striking out five. He will take the victory , boosting his season record to 6-1.
