Jackals rest before road trip

Little Falls, NJ – The New Jersey Jackals were off on Monday, as they prepare for a six day road trip to Massachusetts, to face the powerhouse North Division.

The ballclub took two of three from the Quebec Les Capitales this past weekend. The Jackal bats were back in full effect. Wady Almonte led New Jersey at the plate, going 8-11 with two homeruns and seven runs batted in. He is now tied for second in the Northeast League with twenty RBI. On Friday, starting pitcher Jackson Crowther picked up his third win of the season, with a seven inning, two hit, performance. His 2.49 ERA is ranked seventh among pitchers in the Northeast League. He also has a total of 25 strikeouts which is fifth in the league.

Going into the road trip, the Jackals sit at 11-13, only four games behind the New Haven County Cutters for the lead in the South Division. New Jersey will face off against the North Shore Spirit from Tuesday, June 22, 2004 until Thursday, June 24, 2004. The Jackals will then make the short trip to Brockton, to do battle with their rival Rox. They will be in Brockton from Friday, June 25, 2004 until Sunday, June 27, 2004.
